Kuninao I Utagawa 1793-1854

Woodblock print designer, a pupil of Utagawa Toyokuni (1769-1825). Along with Kuniyasu and Kunimaru, they were the three best artists from Toyokuni School. By the influence of Katsushika Hokusai (1760-1849), Kuninao learned woodblock printing and produced various subjects on prints; majority is Kabuki followed by Beauty and landscapes.
