Kunitora Utagawa active 1810-1830

Printmaker, a student of Toyokuni I. As a designer he was inspired by European graphics. Majority of his works were landscapes in western style and each image was designed with using of perspective method. He also expressed details of prints by adopting a unique technique such as 'Fukibokashi' to create gradation. Kunitora drew applause and admiration from his master but he kept low prestige as he was less enthusiastic about producing his works frequently.
