Talented but rather obscure artist was trained by Shigenaga. Among his favourite subjects are kabuki actors and beauties (bijin-ga), geishas especially. He had a period of collaboration with Shunsho Katsukawa. Towards the end of his career he used the art name of Kosuisai.
